We are all aware that the libraries of today are well beyond books, they serve the community in many other ways. What use to be known as a quiet environment, is now a gathering place. There are now ‘teen spaces’ in libraries as well as meeting rooms for community use. The use of ultra modern designs are widely being incorporated into library buildings making them a unique focal point.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services released a report focusing on the uptick of visitors to libraries when money is spent on building and renovations. As a matter of fact, the report also showed that when money wasn’t being invested, visitation dropped.

Wired, a monthly magazine which is published in both print and online, recently did a feature on “Settle Into 10 of the Most Beautiful Libraries on Earth”. Wired spotlights on how emerging technologies are affecting our economy, politics and culture.
