Coming Soon to Discovery Elementary School!
Construction began in March, 2014 on the Discovery Elementary School located in Arlington, VA. This new school is known as the first ‘Net Zero’ school in Virginia. The 98,000 square foot school will contain 2,000 solar panels and LED lighting throughout. A Net Zero school is designed with the idea of buying the electricity and at the end of the month enough electricity should have been generated so that you have a net positive or net zero bill. There is a one year waiting period before the new school can be assessed by a net zero certifying organization. BCI was chosen for the new library furnishings and to become part of this first Net Zero school project. The Discovery Elementary School is scheduled to open September, 2015.
