The Lowell Campus of UMass Chooses BCI
The Lowell Campus of the University of Massachusetts was founded in 1894, and was known as the Lowell Normal School, a teaching college. It was also home to the Lowell Textile School which was founded in 1895 designed to train technicians and managers in the textile industry. In 1975 these two schools – Lowell State and Lowell Tech, combined and became the University of Lowell. In 1991, the Lowell campus became a part of the University of Massachusetts system. Today, the campus is considered a national research university. The university provides over 17,000 students bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in seven colleges. A recent renovation at the O’Leary Library included BCI’s 60/30 Steel Radius Shelving with Steel Canopy Tops and London End Panels.
